Produced under the banner of Setu Creations, 'Banaras: A Mystic Love Story' explores the various forms of love. It dares to find a meaningful solution to the clash between rationality and blind faith and between what is visible and what is possible. Woven in the narrative are the themes that represent the eternal city of Banaras. The film has been shot at picturesque locations across Banaras as well as the exhilarating locales of Mauritius. The locations used in the film include the house of Kabir, the great weaver-saint, the Ramgarh Palace and Sarnath. The film's crew was also given special access to shoot the original manuscript of "Ramcharit Manas" written by Tulsidas and the famed Puja at the Vishwanath temple.
Directed by Pankuj Parashar, the story is written by LC Singh with dialogues written by Javed Siddiqi. Lyricist Sameer and the Music Director, Himesh Reshammiya have ensured that every single musical note and word in the film reflects the essence of the Banaras gharana style of music. An impressive cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Raj Babbar, Urmila Matondkar, Ashmit Patel and Akash Khurana, doing complete justice to the film's mystical subject.
Pankuj Parashar, fondly known as the "Spielberg" of Indian cinema for his trend-setting films like ChaalBaaz and Jalwa and TV soap Karamchand, is very excited about Banaras: A Mystic Love Story. "The film would prove to be a marked departure from my familiar style and pattern. This is a different genre of film, which is based on a spiritual subject, and going to be one of my very best works."
Producer - Writer LC Singh firmly believes in staying rooted to his heritage. "Banaras is the epitome of everything Indian. The film also aims at revealing the mystical message to the younger generation making them proud of belonging to this land."
